BUENA PARK, Calif. (September 30, 2005) — Loud and lightweight design with killer, versatile bass tone. That's what the new Yamaha BBT500-110 (10" speaker and compression driver) and BBT500-115 (15" speaker and compression driver) bass combos deliver. Both models incorporate the groundbreaking digital amplification and preamp technology from the new Yamaha BBT500H digital bass amplifier—with a speaker—in a single cabinet.

The BBT500H is the world's first all-digital bass amp head, delivering 500 Watts of power (with two cabinets), and offering a total of 11 vintage and modern amp sounds ranging from a fat tube rig to a 1960's fuzz. It can be used with electric, upright or Yamaha "Silent" bass products, and has built-in dynamics and amazing tone shaping capability that are a testament to Yamaha's history of DSP technology. Onboard processing includes a 5-band variable tone control, single-band, fully parametric EQ, compressor and programmable effects blend. Other features include an effects loop, MIDI in/out and five user memory locations. Connections include 1/4" line and balanced XLR outputs, two 1/4" speaker outputs, tuner outputs and a headphone jack for practice.

"With the BBT500, customers have the ability to bring 11 different amps to a gig in a simple, lightweight unit," states Bryan Savage, marketing manager, Yamaha Guitars. "The new BBT combos take that technology a step further as the industry's first self-contained, high powered and tone-packed solutions."

The BBT500-110 and BBT500-115 are currently available.
