Yamaha Artist Model Trumpet

BUENA PARK, CA (May 6, 2005) — Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division, recently unveiled the YTR-9445CHS Artist Model Orchestral C Trumpet.

The YTR-9445CHS C trumpet is the first instrument in the Artist Model series, a new line that began with a fundamental reexamination of the ways new instruments are conceived and tested. Each instrument is the result of an extensive collaboration between skilled craftsmen and a prominent musician who provides his or her input on each prototype in the design process. The attention to detail, playablity and overall character of the YTR-9445CHS sets it apart and distinguishes it as a performance and quality breakthrough.

The trumpet was manufactured and designed to the highest quality standards, with the combined input of John Hagstrom of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Yamaha Brass Designer Bob Malone. A French bead bell rim with low dome wire improves sound projection, thanks to the refined, sharper rim edge. The trumpet also features a Malone MC1 'hidden' reversed tuning slide design oversleeve, which is based on Bob Malone's classic leadpipe designs.

Intended for use by top orchestral professionals, the trumpet's design places it at the pinnacle of orchestral trumpets, and sets the standard for other instruments that Yamaha will release in the future as part of the Artist Model series.

“The YTR-9445CHS is a bold statement in trumpet design,” states Kurt Witt, Marketing Manager, Winds, Yamaha Band & Orchestral Division. “We worked with talented and well respected artist John Hagstrom, as well as our own Bob Malone, in reevaluating every single piece of the instrument to improve and develop a trumpet that more than lives up to its name as an 'Artist' model.”

The YTR-9445CHS trumpet is currently available.
