Sounds Good: Yamaha Releases New Headphones

BUENA PARK, CA (May 27, 2005) — Whether every musician understands, gigging musician, hobbyist or a casual listener, musicians understand that high-quality headphones are a vital component of any system. After carefully analyzing every possible application, Yamaha has redesigned their headphone line with four new models that will exceed the tough requirements of musicians – from the entry-level to the pro.

“When it comes to the headphone market, the music industry is the most demanding and offers the widest spectrum of applications,” says Shawna von Behren, marketing manager, Yamaha Accessory Products. “The ear is a musician’s most valuable instrument, and is critically trained to demand perfection in sound reproduction. With each new model, Yamaha studied the specific needs of musicians and designed a line with the latest technology, ergonomics, personal comfort and sound quality.”

The RH1C Portable Stereo Headphones are an update of the classic Yamaha RH1. Built for the mobile musician seeking a lightweight, high-quality headphone, the RH1C delivers remarkable acoustic presence through increased dynamic range and full, bright sound through an advanced open-ear design. Finished with comfortable foam ear cushions, the RH1C is an economic solution for the musician on-the-go, and is the perfect accessory for portable personal systems.

Featuring a new ear cup design, model RH2C offers increased noise reduction in a dynamic headphone. Musicians will enjoy the long-lasting listening comfort of the soft vinyl ear cushions and extra-wide head band. The lightweight (6 oz.) RH2C delivers sonic brilliance and provides the perfect audio environment for portable keyboards or casual listening.

Developed specifically for studio or road applications, Yamaha’s RH3C Stereo Headphones are equipped with professional-quality elements that boast the impressive bass presence and clear treble response that trained musicians demand. The closed-ear, noise reducing design also features a coiled cord and thickly padded, collapsible headband that will provide lasting comfort in the studio and save space when traveling.

The CM500 Headset Microphone combines closed-ear, noise reducing headphones and a quality dynamic microphone, making it ideal for DJs, school music labs, karaoke systems, musicians who sing while playing an instrument, or interactive computer gaming. High impact materials, an ultra-flexible headband design and comfortable mesh sling will withstand the hard torque and constant use found in music labs or in the DJ booth.

“Yamaha is a name associated with top audio and music products,” adds von Behren. “That same quality that is found in our mixing consoles, synthesizers and processors can be found in this redesigned headphone line. Yamaha’s headphones continue to deliver the best sound and comfort, whether your application is education, casual listening at home, or in a professional recording studio.”

All headphone models are currently available and include up to nine feet of cord, a 1/8” miniphone plug and a 1/4” TRS phone adaptor for added flexibility.
