Award-Winning Classical Pianist Mei-Ting Sun Plays Carnegie Hall

NEW YORK (June 16, 2005) — 2005 National Chopin Competition winner and Yamaha artist Mei-Ting Sun performed in a solo recital sponsored by The Chopin Foundation at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall on June 13.

Sun will represent the U.S. at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland this coming September. At only 24 years old, he has already toured Spain, France, Italy, China and Japan and played with symphonies in Canada, Hong Kong and Macau.

He has been featured on WQXR Classical Radio’s “Young Artist Showcase” and NPR’s “Performance Today” program. He was also the 2002 Winner of the International Piano-e-Competition. Currently, Sun is a C.V. Star Doctoral Fellow of The Juilliard School of Music.
