Yamaha's Watch & Learn DVD Volume Two Reveals Advanced Functionality Of Clavinova CVP-300 Series Digital Pianos

BUENA PARK, CA (September 9, 2005) — Yamaha Corporation of America, Piano Division, has released Volume Two of its Watch & Learn instructional DVD series for the CVP-300 line of digital pianos, entitled Exploring Song Playback, Recording, Editing and More. Produced as a follow up to Volume One, Exploring Voices, Styles, Effects and More, the DVD investigates the more complex functionality of the instrument.

Yamaha Clavinova specialists Tom Folenta and Craig Knudsen continue this successful instructional series, offering an enjoyable, “how-to” approach that teaches users procedures via live demonstrations. The DVD, which features detailed, close-up images of the instrument’s keyboard, function keys and LCD screen, applies to the full series of Clavinova CVP-300 instruments, and is suited for intermediate and advanced players. Its convenient DVD format offers easy navigation, enabling users to skip precisely to the chapters they prefer.

Chapter One discusses “Song Playback” functions, including playing the internal song library, exploring the song lesson guide features and a review of playback buttons and controls, as well as song navigation, reading music notation from the instrument’s LCD screen, and the ability to play instantly with Performance Assistant. It additionally explores metronome features and settings, changing the playback speed and phrase practicing using the “A/B Repeat” function. This section also covers the score function and accessing score settings.

The “Mixing Console” section helps users understand the operation of the instrument’s mixing functions, including the adjustment of volume, tuning, voices, reverb and chorus. It also shows users how to control styles and balance song parts. The recording functions explained include multi-track recording, the naming and saving of songs and initial track editing. The song editing functions include re-recording of tracks, editing specific sections of tracks and changing track sections without re-recording.

The “Style Creator” shows users how to change a style’s setting, modify instrumental background, create specific styles and modify existing accompaniment styles. In addition, the DVD also includes an overview of Channel On/Off, Karaoke, Quantize, Delete functions and more.
