The powerful – and portable – STAGEPAS 300
BUENA PARK, CA — Educators at United States military bases across the country and around the world are helping students master musical concepts and skills with the help of Yamaha Pro Audio & Combo Division's first portable public address system, the STAGEPAS 300.

Last year, the Department of Defense Education Activity, the civilian entity that oversees the U. S. military's educational endeavors, overhauled its curriculum standards in music to "provide music teachers with a structure of music instruction that injects a high degree of rigor in music education," according to the agency's website. To support its teachers, the department provided many of them with a bundle of musical equipment that included a computer, notation and recording software, a digital keyboard, microphones and a STAGEPAS 300.

Washington Music Center in Wheaton, Maryland, provided 82 systems to the Department of Defense.

"The STAGEPAS 300 is being used at United States military bases not just in music classes, but also for other multi-purpose functions like providing audio support in school auditoriums and for public speaking ceremonies," said Wayne Hrabak, marketing manager, Live Sound. "I can't think of a simpler, more powerful way to support such a noble pursuit."

With its easy-to-use, ultra-compact design, the STAGEPAS 300 is a perfect choice for multimedia presentations, schools, churches, solo performances and small music groups. STAGEPAS 300 is also the first portable, completely self-contained PA system manufactured by Yamaha.

Each speaker contains an 8" woofer and 1" compression driver, driven by an efficient 150-watt (x 2) Class D amplifier. Connectors with separate level control for a tape recorder or a CD player are conveniently located on the front panel, along with stereo-out and monitor connections. For added convenience, both high-impact molded speaker enclosures include pole mount adaptors and rear compartments that house the mixer, cabling, mics and accessories.

"With STAGEPAS, there's no need to deal with large, unwieldy components or complicated setups," said John Schauer, product manager, Professional Audio. "The system is so convenient and portable that people with little or no technical knowledge can set up and get running quickly and easily."

An optional case (model YBSP300), similar in design to "rolling office" luggage products, is available for additional storage, protection and portability.
