When Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast last summer, drummer T. K. Lively of the band Wet Willie lost his prized Yamaha drum set along with everything else in his Ocean Springs, Miss. home. "The tidal surge swept everything out," said Lively. "Neighbors over a block away were finding drums, cymbals, and hardware all over the place." Bandmate Jack Hall reached out to Yamaha and Ken Stanton Music in Atlanta. Stanton and Yamaha district manager John Messerschmidt gave Lively a brand new Stage Custom Advantage set, which lets him in the words of the band's hit song Keep on Smilin'. "Their generous gift was a really bright spot in a very devastating time."
