Renowned Pianist Vladimir Krainev To Conduct Master Class At Yamaha Artist Services
NEW YORK, N.Y. Noted pianist and Professor Vladimir Krainev will conduct a Master Class at Yamaha's midtown piano salon on April 22 and April 24 26, 2006. This event is free and open to the public.
His performances with famous orchestras, eminent conductors and outstanding soloists all over the world have established Vladimir Krainev as one of the great musicians of our time. Intially trained at the Kharkov Music School, he continued his studies at the Central Music School in Moscow, and under Henrich Neuhaus at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He graduated from the Conservatory and pursued post-graduate studies under the guidance of his late professor's son, Stanislav Neuhaus.
After winning first prizes at international competitions in Lisbon, Portugal, Leeds, England and especially after his brilliant victory at the Fourth Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow in 1970 his career as a pianist began.
Krainev is currently a professor at the Higher School of Music and Theatre in Hanover, Germany, where 29 young pianists from Russia, France, Germany, China, Korea and other countries study in his class.

For many years, he has presented "Vladimir Krainev Invites ," a concert series at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory. A jury member of numerous piano competitions, Krainev served as chair the piano jury of the XII Tchaikovsky International Competition in 2002.
In 1994, he established the Vladimir Krainev International Fund for Young Pianists.
