DGX620 Brings Technology and Value Into Your Home
BUENA PARK, Calif. Yamaha Corporation of America, Consumer Products Division, introduces the DGX620 Digital Portable Keyboard an amazing achievement in design, features, performance and value. Full sized piano-style keys are the hallmark of the DGX620. Graded Hammer/Touch Sensitive action mimics the weight and feel of an acoustic grand, while more than 400 Instrument Voices (including XGlite voices and 12 Drum/Percussion/SFX kits) and onboard effects (Chorus, Delay, Reverb, EQ) produce stunningly realistic sounds. With the One Touch Portable Grand function, the single press of one button creates the incredible realism of a stereo grand piano. Add expression to your playing by using the pitch bend wheel, or by adding a sustain pedal. The DGX620 can be enjoyed through the dynamic stereo speakers, or through the privacy of headphones. Recording original music is fast and easy with the 5-song /6-track capacity on-board sequencer. Lyric and Scoring viewing capability, giving users the option to simply press the Score button and see the notation on the large bitmapped LCD display even for the songs they've recorded themselves. An integrated Easy Song Arranger includes a library of 150 Styles and 267 Songs. And with Yamaha's Performance Assistant technology, anyone can play a song even with only very basic musical skills. Two modes of play are available, Chord or Melody. In Chord mode, when the keys are struck in time with the music, the notes are corrected to match chords of the song being played. No matter what keys that you hit on the keyboard, the correct notes will play. In Melody mode, the song begins without a melody. Once again, no matter what keys are stuck on the keyboard, a melody will play.
"The DGX620 provides the look and sound of an acoustic piano, and is an ideal alternative to a large instrument for customers with space or cost limitations," says Ron Martino, marketing manager, Yamaha Consumer Products. "Not only do you get a high quality, moderately-priced digital piano that can be used in or out of the home, but you also get a diverse feature set typically found on high-end professional synthesizers." Keyboards and digital pianos are increasingly being used in conjunction with computers, both at home and in school, and are often a pathway to serious music education. The Yamaha Education Suite (Y.E.S.) is a personal music teacher built into the DGX620. Starting with timing, progressing to playing the correct notes and finally progressing to playing a song with both hands, Y.E.S. offers the tools needed to build musical proficiency with exercises, grading and songs to learn. The DGX620 is fully PC computer compatible with Flash ROM for downloading and storing songs from the Web, USB "TO DEVICE" storage, and USB MIDI.
