Yamaha Introduces Powerful, Yet Easy To Use Mixer

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Live sound gear can be intimidating, but Yamaha's new EMX5016CF Powered Mixer takes the confusion out of setting up a professional-sounding live music experience. This 16-channel stereo powered mixer, which includes two 500-watt amplifiers, is ideal for bands, churches and small rental applications.

The EMX5016CF combines a mixer to balance sources, effects to add ambience to the sound, and amplification to drive house speakers, eliminating the need to employ a thicket of cables to connect different components that require careful level-matching for optimal performance.

"Yamaha takes the frustration out of preparing for a gig because there's no need to lug around, connect and adjust multiple units," said Wayne Hrabak, marketing manager, Yamaha Pro Audio & Combo Division, Live Sound products.

Keeping things simple, the unit is packed with features, including single knob input compressors, feedback eliminator, automatic digital graphic EQ, Dual Effect engines and a Maximiser for the main output. This is the first powered mixer Yamaha has offered with digital automatic EQ and Maximiser.

"This new mixer makes setting up a great sounding PA easier than ever," said John Schauer, product manager, Live Sound products. "Now you can spend more time making music and less time worrying about the sound."

The EMX5016CF, which replaces the EMX5000-20, will be available in the fall.
