Inna Faliks to Perform Piano Recital at Yamaha Artist Services, Inc.

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Award-winning pianist and Yamaha Artist Inna Faliks will present a recital at Yamaha Artist Services, Inc. on Thursday, October 12 at 7:30 p.m. This event is free of charge and open to the public.

The program will include Symphonic Etudes Opus 13 (posthumous variations included), by Schumann; Adagio in B Minor, by Mozart; Sonata in C Minor, by Schubert; Variations on a Theme by Corelli, by Rachmaninoff; and additional surprise selections.

At only 15-years-old, the Ukrainian-born American pianist made her concert debut with the Chicago Symphony, playing Concerto #1 by Tchaikovsky. Shortly thereafter, she made her Carnegie Hall debut and has since performed numerous recitals and concerti in prestigious venues in the U.S. as well as in France, Italy, Switzerland, Russia, the Ukraine, Estonia and Japan. Ms. Faliks has also played under the batons of such renowned conductors as Leonard Slatkin, Keith Lockhart, Edward Polochick, Stephen Alltop, Anne Harrigan, Jed Gaylin, Jason Love, Thomas Joiner and Phillip Simmons.

The recipient of the 2005 ProMusic International Award in N.Y. and Grand Prize winner of the 2005 St. Charles International Piano Competition, Ms. Faliks has been awarded for her "vivid, vibrant and powerfully driven playing." Other achievements include 1st prize in the International Hilton Head Piano Competition, 2nd Prize in the Val Tidone International Piano Competition in Italy, 1st prize in the National Federation of Music Clubs Competition, and 1st Prize in the Yale Gordon Competition at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore.

Faliks is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at the Accademia Pianistica Internazionale in Imola, Italy, and will embark on her Doctorate Studies at The State University of New York at Stonybrook. She earned her Graduate Performance Diploma and Masters degree at the Peabody Conservatory.
