Yamaha Adds Diverse New Titles to Starlights Music Library
BUENA PARK, Calif. Yamaha Corporation of America, Piano Division, today announced four eclectic new additions to its popular StarLIGHTS series of musical software. This series enables users to play their favorite tunes on Yamaha Clavinova CVP digital pianos using its innovative "Follow Lights" technology.
The newest additions to the "light-themed" collection include: Country Delights, a collection of country favorites; Music by Candlelight, a compilation of romantic love songs and Lights of Broadway, featuring the best-loved songs of hit musicals. A compilation package entitled StarLIGHTS Highlights rounds out the new offerings, and features one song from each of the top 10 StarLIGHTS books, offering first time StarLIGHTS buyers an easy way to sample from the wide-ranging collection.
These innovative book/disk packs enable users to play many of their favorite songs by simply following the lights above the keys on a CVP Clavinova with guide lamps or by reading music printed in popular E-Z Play® Today notation. The E-Z Play feature ensures that each song is performed accurately from the first note onward. Learning musicians will appreciate the series' progressive nature, which allows them to follow the lights with either one or both hands.
Users are guided at their own pace in a pleasant, non-pressured manner that eliminates sharp learning curves, pressured practice sessions and repetitive scales. To make the playing experience even more enjoyable, rich, creative orchestral accompaniments progressively build in the background while users play. Lyrics, chord symbols and SCORE notation with automatic page turns are displayed on the instrument's LCD screen.

Yamaha Specialist and Marketing Consultant Craig Knudsen teamed with Yamaha Smart PianoSoft developer Jarrod Radnich to create the StarLIGHTS series, whose technological innovation eliminates the typical challenges that stand between budding musicians and a lifetime of musical enjoyment.
The book series is "backward-compatible" to early Clavinova CVP models, so that owners of the CVP 90, 100, 200 and 300 Series models can all use this "Follow Lights" type software.
