Elton John Fans Proud Owners of Limited Edition "Red Piano"
BUENA PARK, Calif. — Joseph Poggioli, Jr. and his wife, Deborah, are long-time fans of Yamaha artist Elton John. "We really like his music and charitable work for his AIDS Foundation," says Poggioli, a 26-year veteran of the New Rochelle Police Department. "Back in the 90s, we went to see him at Madison Square Garden and what a great show! He performed non-stop for two hours. He had a lot of energy."
Last spring, the couple read about The Elton John Red Piano Tour on the Internet, and decided to take a drive to Connecticut with their four young children to see one of only 30 Elton John Limited Edition Signature Series Red Pianos. Within a few days, the Poggiolis were proud owners of an Elton John Limited Edition Signature Series Red Piano. "The family had wanted to buy a piano for a while," says Poggioli. "And the opportunity to own a piano personally autographed by Elton John was simply irresistible."
The Yamaha DC1M4-EJ is a much-cherished centerpiece of the family's living room. "We're obviously really into Elton John," Poggioli admits. "We hope our kids will want to take up an instrument someday, and if they show an interest in piano, we'll get lessons for them."
