Yamaha Cares and Alissa's Angels Team Up On Give Holiday CD To Benefit Children's Hospital of Orange County

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Music lovers will have the opportunity to ring in the holidays with their favorite carols through the purchase of Give, a specially produced CD to benefit the Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC).

Created in conjunction with Yamaha Corporation of America and Orange County-based Alissa's Angels, this exclusive CD features 19 selections including traditional tunes like "Deck the Halls," "Jingle Bells" and "O Holy Night," alongside original compositions such as the title track "Give," created specifically for this CD by composers Paul Williams and Joel Plimmer.

Among the special performances on Give is nine-year-old Kodi Lee's rendition of "Jingle Bells." Lee suffers from both optic nerve hypoplasia – which has taken his eyesight – and autism, but his prowess as a musician has led to recordings, concert appearances and his own website.

The production of the CD was made possible through services donated by Orange County businesses such as Woodridge Press, Media Management, Precise Media and Vertis, Inc.

Currently available, Give can be purchased for $15. CDs can be ordered through the Kids Cards link on the CHOC website www.choc.org.

"Give is such a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays and give to students in need," said Carol Baker, Vice President of Human Resources, Yamaha Corporation of America, who oversees the Yamaha Cares program. "We are appreciative of all those who gave their time and resources to this important project, especially the artists and Yamaha employees."

Alissa's Angels is a group of friends devoted to young Alissa Head, who has received cancer treatments at CHOC. The group first came together at the hospital's annual "CHOC/Disneyland Resort Walk in the Park" fundraiser in 1999. To-date, this special group has raised about $215,000 for the CHOC Neuroscience Institute.
