Yamaha Artist Services, Inc., Presents Master Class with John O'Conor

BUENA PARK, Calif. — From Tuesday, December 12 through Friday December 15, John O'Conor, one of the world's leading concert pianists and music academics, will share his insights into the art of piano performance in an exciting piano master class held at the Piano Salon at Yamaha Artist Services, Inc.

Following performances by talented young artists, Mr. O'Conor will offer specialized feedback from both a technical and interpretive perspective. The Irish-born O'Conor is a professor at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and serves as Artistic Director of the AXA Dublin International Piano Competition. Through his recitals, concerto appearances, and critically acclaimed recordings, O'Conor has earned a reputation as a masterful interpreter of the Classic and early Romantic piano repertoires. He has been praised for his formidable technique and through his eloquent phrasing, mastery of keyboard color, and particularly his unique sound, has been called a true "Poet of the Piano."

This event is open to the public and admission is free. One-hour classes begin at 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Upcoming master classes will include such well-known artists as Jacques Rouvier – February 15-17, 2007; Marc Durand – March 2-3, 2007; Alexander Kobrin – March 14, 2007; and Dina Yoffee – April 11-13, 2007.
