Kabuto Snare Continues Yamaha's Tradition of Innovation

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Taking its name from a helmet worn by samurai warriors with traditional Japanese armor, the new Kabuto Snare Drum from Yamaha consists of a 14-in. x 5½-in. steel shell coated with an eye-catching red lacquered finish. The steel shell provides brightness, while the red lacquer finish gives the drum unusual depth and warmth for all styles of music. The Kabuto snare debuts at Winter NAMM 2007.

"The Kabuto snare is one of the most versatile drums that we make," said Dave Jewell, marketing manager, Yamaha Drums, Pro Audio & Combo Division. "The red finish gives the drum a stunning look, but it also gives it the warmth of a wood drum for the best of both worlds."

The Kabuto snare drum, model SD-265KAT, is scheduled to ship in March 2007.
