"The PSR-S500 opens the door to an arranger workstation level of product for musicians on a limited budget," said Mark Anderson, marketing manager, Portable Keyboards, Pro Audio & Combo Division. "Yamaha has squeezed a lot of technology into a reasonably-priced keyboard, providing a welcome addition to our arranger workstation line of products."

The PSR-S500's Style control — which refers to accompaniment patterns like rock, jazz or country — includes three introductions, four sections with fill-ins and three endings. It also features a pitch bend wheel for more expressive playing of brass and guitar sounds, 32-note polyphony and a nine-track sequencer.

"Users will love the look of this keyboard, the tremendous sound quality and the convenience they've come to appreciate, like category buttons for Voices and Styles, USB storage and more control over the Styles," said Anderson.

The PSR-S500 is currently available.
