Yamaha Unveils Drum Carriers for Snare, Multi-Tom and Bass Drums

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division, will showcase May Snare, Multi-Tom and Bass Drum Contour Hinge Tube Carriers with Polycarbonate belly plates at Winter NAMM 2007.

Tested by collegiate and Drum Corps International percussion sections, these carriers are ideal for student and professional drummers. Ultra lightweight, comfortable and strong, these carriers set the standard for sizing, flexibility and ergonomic design, delivering a range of adjustments to fit most players.

The structures retain the unrivaled strength of all May tubular technology, and extreme flexibility and versatility in size variation, as the individual contour fit was specifically designed to outline both the upper and lower body of the player. A Memory Lock on the J-Rods is also included to expedite assembly time, enabling drummers to set up their equipment in seconds.

All carriers feature an adjustable, virtually free-floating May Abdomen Plate, which provides an unsurpassed strength-to-weight ratio, bears no torque weight from the drum, and inverts – allowing for different body contact point variations.

In addition, each carrier has an aircraft aluminum May tubular structure that enables mounting brackets to slide, rotate and lock with ease, creating a wide range of adjustment possibilities. Precision-bent magnesium shoulders provide optimum comfort by using one of the lightest weight materials without sacrificing durability.

The May Compound Hinge technology reduces carriers to one-half their original sizes, for convenient transport and product protection.

The bass drum carrier features an invertible support pad which complements any size bass drum while automatically adjusting to the drum's radius, as well as extreme range in structural elevation for all height players, regardless of corresponding drum size. A solid unity between the bass drum and carrier is created via the May Lock Nut and Attachment Hook, eliminating any drum movement. MonoPosto hardware and seat support the bass drum and integrate Stadium Hardware ATS technology.

"These carriers truly adapt to the size of each drummer," said Troy Wollwage, Percussion Marketing Manager. "Any time we can make the drum fit better on the body, kids feel better while playing and can concentrate more on the music rather than carrying the drum."

The RM-TVHS-PC and RM-TVHQS-PC Snare Drum Carriers, the RM-TVHQL-PC Multi-Tom Carrier and the RM-TVHMB-PC Bass Drum Carrier will be available in March 2007.
