BUENA PARK, Calif. — Yamaha Drums debuts its upgraded line of durable Flying Dragon Foot Pedals at Winter NAMM 2007. Four single- and four double-pedal models, denoted with prefixes FP or DFP, respectively, feature a variety of drive types – including single or double chain, direct or strap drive – and provide smooth, quiet action that will satisfy the requirements of any musical style. The pedals, which can be used with any drum set, are manufactured to extreme tolerances in Yamaha's motorcycle factory and will easily withstand the rigors of even the most hard-hitting drummer.

"The Flying Dragon pedals have always received great feedback on their feel," said Dave Jewell, marketing manager, Yamaha Drums, Pro Audio & Combo Division. "With the 2007 editions, we have made some minor adjustments to enhance the pedals' overall feel and dependability."

Additional features include real felt beaters, a spring lock system, new footboard and heel designs and the ability to adjust footboard and beater angles. The new models also offer reinforced footboard hoop clamps and horizontal frame stabilizers. On the direct drive pedals (9415 models), the linkage has been re-solidified.

"The Flying Dragon's Quick Release Hoop Clamp allows a drummer to quickly get the pedal on or off the bass drum," said Jewell. "Most important, however, the reinforced hinge in the new models offers a much smoother feel. Reports back from our artists have been very positive."
