"Slimline was designed to appeal to the growing number of people who appreciate sophisticated design and superior quality on all levels," says Jim Levesque, Clavinova Marketing Manager, Piano Division, Yamaha Corporation of America. "We're thrilled to see it embraced by people from all parts of the country and all walks of life. With its innovative functionality and compact design, it's clear that this piano's beauty is more than skin deep."

The Clavinova CLP-F01 is on display at Winter NAMM 2007.

According to Matt Perez of Valley Keyboards in McAllen, Texas and The Piano Gallery of Corpus Christi, Texas, the instrument – which is available in a variety of striking colors – can even let sports fans express love for their favorite teams. "I like to call it the 'University of Texas Longhorn Burnt Orange Slimline Clavinova,'" states Perez. "Football fans can show their true colors with this instrument. You've got to see it and hear it to believe it."

"Small churches in Texas love the Slimline," reports Bob Myer, Piano Sales Associate for Strait Music in Austin, Texas. "The Slimline's comprehensive features are perfect for small congregations. The realistic piano sound and touch and compact size make it ideally suited for smaller worship services."

"A local realty company purchased a Slimline to put on their boat," declared Steve Olson, General Manager of Piano Craft in Springfield, Missouri. "They use it to entertain clients when they cruise on Lake Tablerock."

"California college students love the thinness of the Slimline," notes David Leewright, Sales Associate of Pianos Plus in Castro Valley, California. "We've had success selling Slimlines to college students that wish to have a piano, but have little space in their dorm room. Where a normal acoustic piano won't work, this piano will."

"With many living in mountain resorts and smaller condominiums, space is a concern for retirees in Colorado," said J.B. Hart, owner of J.B. Hart Music Company in Grand Junction, Colorado. "Those who love pianos but are tight on space rejoice in the compact size of the Slimline. They also don't have to worry about tuning the instrument, particularly during winter temperature extremes caused by open doors and fireplaces."

Ward-Brodt's Mark Barrett sees the same need for space-efficiency in his market of Madison, Wisconsin. "In downtown Madison, condo development is booming," he reports, and the Slimline is gaining such popularity that "a local developer placed one into his model condo and then decided to buy it himself – for his own vacation home in Hawaii."

Introduced at Winter NAMM 2005, the CLP-F01PO (Polished Orange), CLP-F01PE (Polished Ebony), CLP-F01PB (Polished Blue) and CLP-F01PR (Polished Red) extend a mere 15 3/4 inches from the wall, and close to reveal a completely flat configuration that resembles a console table from the finest furniture collection. The selected color of each instrument is featured on a back plate that stands flush with the wall, framing the piano like a work of art.

All four models feature 88 real wood keys with a choice of hard, medium, soft and fixed touch sensitivity. Three-level AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) Stereo Sampling technology, which varies the volume and timbre of sound according to the user's touch on the keyboard, combines with 64-note polyphony, reverb and brilliance effects to provide a rich spectrum of sound.

The piano's 14 instrument voices include three Grand Piano types and two Electric Piano types, and 50 onboard preset piano songs let the fun start from the very first moment.

The CLP-F01 models all feature a built-in To Host PC interface; AUX IN; AUX OUT; MIDI IN, OUT and THRU; and dual headphone jacks. Their internal flash memory can record two tracks or three songs of up to 9,000 notes, and built-in functions include dual and split keyboard function, a metronome, transposition, pitch and custom scales. The onboard sound system generates 40 watts (x2) through two 16 cm X 2.5 cm speakers. Each CLP-F01 comes with an owner's manual, the book 50 Greats for the Piano, and a bench.
