Boston College's Screaming Eagles Play Yamaha

BOSTON, Mass. — Boston College's Screaming Eagles Marching Band recently purchased a full line of Yamaha Marching percussion equipment, including 8200 Series Field-Corps Bass Drums and Multi-Toms, as well as MTS snare drums, all in a cherry wood custom lacquer finish to match the school's colors. The drums came straight from Yamaha's factory in Japan, along with a complement of carriers, cases and stands.

With their rigorous performance demands, the Screaming Eagles Marching Band needed equipment that would best represent them. Given its excellent reputation for quality instruments and durability, Yamaha was the perfect fit. Of the 119 Division I-A band programs nationwide, 54 percent have chosen to "Play Yamaha" marching percussion products.

The Boston College Screaming Eagles Marching Band continues to enhance the experience of Boston College athletic events in conjunction with the dance team and cheerleaders. From playing the legendary fight song "For Boston" to entertaining fans during intermission, the Screaming Eagles are a large part of the tradition before, during and after athletic events. Warming up with the traditional pre-game march across campus, the band performs at each home football game. They also perform in support of Boston College Hockey. The Screaming Eagles travel to the Fleet Center each year for the annual Beanpot Tournament, and they perform in post-season events to support the Eagles in front of capacity crowds.

"Our students and staff are unanimous in their praise of the exceptional quality and timbre of our Yamaha marching percussion instruments," says Boston College Band Director David Healey. "The Yamaha instruments have played an important role in helping us to create one of the most dynamic and vibrant game day atmospheres in the country."

"Yamaha is extremely happy to welcome the Screaming Eagles Marching Band to its percussion family," says Troy Wollwage, Yamaha Percussion Marketing Manager. "The directors know that just as the football team relies on the band's support to keep the energy of the stadium high during each game, the band needs to be able to depend on its instruments to provide a quality sound not only during each game, but throughout the season."
