Acclaimed Pianist Jacques Rouvier Takes the Stage for Master Classes at Yamaha Artist Services, Inc.
BUENA PARK, Calif. Award-winning classical pianist Jacques Rouvier will inspire rising young pianists as he offers expert guidance from both a technical and artistic perspective in a series of one-hour master classes conducted at at Yamaha Artist Services, Inc.
Praised by critics around the world, the classical French pianist Jacques Rouvier has been hailed a profound and proficient musician. A student of Vlado Perlemuter, Pierre Sancan, Jean Fassina and Jean Hubeau, he has won several international prizes including the Viotti prize in Vercelli (Italy), the Maria Canals prize in Barcelona (Spain) and the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud prize (France) as well as first prizes in Piano and Chamber music from the Paris National Music Conservatory. Rouvier has also been awarded a prize given by the Fondation de la Vocation (France). In addition, he is the founder of the Rouvier-Kantorow-Muller Trio, with whom he regularly performs.
Named Professor of Piano at the Paris National Music Conservatory in 1979, Rouvier has held master classes around the world including Montreal, Vancouver, Saint-Jean-de-Luz (the Maurice Ravel Academy), and the International Music Academies in Flaine, Nice and Les Ares.
An acclaimed recording artist, Rouvier is the winner of the Grand Prix du Disque and the Grand Prix du Disque Français for his CDs.
The classes will take place on Thursday, February 15 at 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.; Friday, February 16 at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.; and Saturday, February 17 at 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
