Yamaha Announces Sale of Drum Corps International Bluecoats 2005/2006 Marching Percussion Equipment

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Yamaha Percussion is pleased to announce the sale of custom marching equipment through local authorized Yamaha Percussion dealers. These percussion instruments were used by the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps during their celebrated 2005 and 2006 seasons. The corps joined the Yamaha family in 2005, placing fifth that year and fourth in 2006, their highest ever finish, and are on track to continue their success with Yamaha marching percussion and brass.

The custom color featured on the battery is black pearl fade, and is not available to the general public on any other Yamaha drumline. The MTS-9214 snare drums are accented by striking chrome hardware and a Yamaha-exclusive dual-snare system for an unmatched distinctiveness in sound. The line includes the 8200 Series Field-Corps Multi-Toms and Bass Drums. This versatile battery delivers a clear and powerful sound that is appropriate both indoors and out.

"The Bluecoats take a lot of pride in their equipment and have used the utmost care to keep it "'like new,'" adds Michael McIntosh, The Bluecoats Percussion Designer. "Keeping the instruments covered 24/7, having the finish out of the sun, daily maintenance and traveling safely and securely all add up to some well-maintained, great sounding Yamaha instruments."

The Bluecoats made their drum corps debut in 1974 as a program of the Police Boys Club in Canton, Ohio. They are the first corps from Ohio to make Drum Corps International finals, and have placed in the elite top 12 since 1987. The Bluecoats are known for their crowd-pleasing, jazz themed shows. Yamaha is proud to be a part of their growing success as they continue to place higher every year.

This one-of-a-kind drumline will be available in early June to the first interested party. The entire battery, which consists of ten (10) MTS-9214 snare drums, four (4) multi-tom sextets (6", 6", 10", 12", 13", 14"), and five (5) bass drums, one each of 18", 20", 24", 28", and 30," is available as a complete set only. Carriers are not included, but can be purchased separately at dealer-net prices. Yamaha will supply new Remo drumheads for the entire line, and will honor the two-year, hoop-to-feet warranty.

This special offer is only available on a first-come, first-served basis.
