Colts Executive Director Greg Orwoll adds, "These Yamaha drums served our corps very well for the past two years. They were built right in the first place, and the care and maintenance they have received has been outstanding. Our staff and members have treated them as the world-class instruments they are. There are many seasons of great music left in these instruments."
The Colts hail from Dubuque, Iowa, which is the smallest city in the United States to host a Drum Corps International Division I drum corps. They were founded in 1963 and have become a championship corps, placing in the Top 12 at DCI Finals seven times. They are known for being the first corps to perform in an irregular meter, using a piece in a 7/4 time signature during their 1970 show.
This special drumline will be available from Chops Percussion in early June to the first interested party. The entire battery, which consists of eight (8) MTS-9214 snare drums, four (4) multi-tom quints (6", 10", 12", 13", 14"), and five (5) bass drums, one each of 18", 20", 24", 28", and 30," is available as a complete set only. Carriers are not included, but can be purchased separately. Yamaha will supply new Remo drumheads for the entire line, and will honor the two-year, hoop-to-feet warranty. This special offer is only available on a first-come, first-served basis.
