Yamaha Announces Sale of the Cadets 2005/2006 Marching Percussion Equipment

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Yamaha Percussion is pleased to announce the sale of custom marching equipment through local authorized Yamaha Percussion dealers. These drums were used by the Cadets during the 2006 and acclaimed 2005 seasons, during which the corps won the DCI Championship and the percussion section won the coveted high drums award.

The custom color featured on the instruments is yellow sparkle fade, and is not available to the general public on any other Yamaha drumline. The MTS-9214 snare drums have special-order chrome hardware. This line includes the 8200 Series Field-Corps Multi-Toms and Bass Drums. The Multi-Toms feature a specially designed lug casing introduced in 2003, which enables the toms to have a deeper shell while weighing less than previous tom models. These versatile drums deliver a clear and powerful sound that is appropriate both indoors and out.

The Cadets are based in Allentown, Pennsylvania and have been a consistently top-ranked corps since 1934. In 1972 the corps was a charter member of DCI. They are 22-time finalists and nine-time DCI champions, which gives them more first-place trophies than any other corps. The Cadets are recognized throughout the drum corps community as the leaders in marching innovation, bringing modern music and techniques to the field.

Percussion Caption Supervisor and Arranger Tom Aungst says this about the particular battery, "The Yamaha percussion instruments that the Cadets used for the past two years are in excellent condition. The members of The Cadets percussion section take great pride in making sure all of the equipment is always in fantastic working condition. The instruments are cleaned daily and repairs are done frequently to keep the instruments like new."

This one-of-a-kind drumline will be available in early June to the first interested party. The entire battery, which consists of (10) MTS-9214 snare drums, four multi-tom sextets (6", 6", 10", 12", 13", 14"), and six bass drums, one each of 20", 22", 24", 26", 28", and 30" is available only as a complete set. Carriers are not included, but can be purchased separately. Yamaha will supply new Remo drumheads for the entire line, and will honor their two-year hoop-to-feet warranty. Remember, this special offer is only available on a first-come, first-served basis.
