Yamaha's Free Online Training Sessions Take the Mystery Out of Worship Music Technology

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Music and audio technology can be intimidating, but the Office of Worship Resources of Yamaha Corporation of America will hold a series of live online seminars designed to demystify all those knobs and buttons.

"One of our main objectives is to train worship musicians and technicians in the use of the sometimes overwhelming technologies available to them," says Mike Overlin, Manager of Worship Resources, Institutional and Commercial Services Department, Yamaha Corporation of America. "These free online courses are the perfect complement to the national live training events we have been offering for years."

The live computer training sessions, which can accommodate an unlimited number of attendees, require a broadband connection. Participants may ask questions during the sessions, which will be archived for later playback at any time.

The schedule is as follows:
  • Computer Based Recording: Learn how to record weekly sermons and worship music programs with high fidelity. The seminar will also feature tips about producing a church podcast.

    Monday, June 25, 2007 – 6:00 p.m. (Pacific Time)
  • Choosing the Right Keyboard: Keyboards offer more features than ever, but the search to find the perfect instrument can be overwhelming. This session will cover the differences between the three basic types of keyboards, digital pianos, synth workstations and arranger workstations, as well as their applications in church.

    Monday, July 2, 2007 – 6:00 p.m. (Pacific Time)
