Yamaha DVD Goes Behind The Scenes To Show What Makes Club V Series Loudspeakers So Popular

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Although many consumers just want their gear to work when they hook it up, in the live sound field, where technical specifications and other scientific-oriented lingo are commonplace, some explanation is still typically required. To demystify the jargon, Yamaha Corporation of America has produced a DVD entitled "The Inside Story: Yamaha Club Series Loudspeakers," which shows the degree of care and quality that go into their Club V Series Loudspeaker line. The 23-minute video also serves as a plain-language primer to the intricacies of speaker design and the physics of sound reproduction.

"People will be amazed when they see the amount of hand craftsmanship that goes into the Club loudspeaker line," said John Schauer, product manager, Live Sound, Yamaha Pro Audio & Combo division. "Video allows us to present a more complete explanation of each of the drivers, as well as overall cabinet construction."

The DVD features footage of the Eminence Speaker Company in Kentucky, where the drivers for these popular loudspeakers are made. Cabinet assembly is also completely explored, showing all aspects of computer controlled woodworking, and final testing performed on completed loudspeakers to ensure that the cabinets are free from vibration and distortion.

The DVD details the careful considerations that contribute to making the Club V loudspeaker series so dependable and clear-sounding, including the role of professional aluminum baskets, curvilinear cones, large voice coils and other important woofer features in delivering more efficient low frequency performance. Yamaha's unique engineering is likewise illustrated in the high frequency driver's custom-designed phase plug and 2 inch titanium diaphragm.

In addition, the video offers advice on how to get better sound in real world situations along with tips on how to decipher specifications like power handling, sensitivity, frequency response and impedance. From audio pros to band members entrusted with their group's live sound, viewers of this DVD will see Yamaha's Club Series loudspeakers in a whole new way.
