The YDP-S30 delivers a traditional acoustic piano playing experience with the modern benefits of digital audio, including permanent tuning stability, the ability to practice privately via headphones and a choice of six instrument Voices. Exclusive to Yamaha is the way this gets achieved with AWM stereo piano Voices, 88 Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) weighted keys and a built-in 3-pedal frame featuring the Half Damper Effect, which fluidly captures foot motion while pedaling. Other convenient features include a built-in metronome, song recorder and 50 recordings of standard piano repertoire that can be used for simple listening enjoyment or as an ideal practice tool for both beginner and advanced pianists.

"The YDP-S30 represents a new look and feel for Yamaha console digital pianos," said Dane Madsen, marketing manager, Digital Pianos, Pro Audio & Combo Division, Yamaha Corporation of America. "From its Rosewood-finish stand, pedal frame and Soft-Shut key cover to its intuitive operation, it easily stands apart from other digital pianos in the marketplace. And even at its competitive low price point, it wouldn't be a YDP without Yamaha's trademark piano touch and tone."

Yamaha is the only digital piano manufacturer with a heritage of making acoustic pianos for over a century. In addition to durable, high-quality pedals, AWM Stereo Sampled piano Voices, a built-in stand and natural rosewood finish on the sides and top panel, the YDP-S30's Soft-Shut key cover acts as a music stand when opened and provides gentle resistance when closing to keep it from slamming shut. It creates a completely flat surface, end-to-end, when closed, contributing to the model's sleek appearance.
