Each evening, the camp hosted clinics that were open to the public. Guest instructors included Luis Conte (Madonna), Terri Lynn Carrington (Herbie Hancock) and Antonio Sanchez (Pat Metheny).

Taking advantage of this unique opportunity to study with professional drummers, 75 participants between the ages of nine and 53, and hailing from New Mexico, Michigan, California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Georgia, attended the camp.

"This year we had a great group of drummers, even more than last year," Emory said. "There's a lot of talent out there and all the drummers who participated learned something about the craft, including the instructors."

Demonstrating its community commitment, Yamaha Drums provided for the use of nine drum sets at the camp. For more information about the Sonny Emory Drum Set Camp, please visit www.sonnye.com or call 1-888-SonnyE4U (1-888-766-6934).
