Drum Corps International 2007 World Championships

As the 2007 marching season comes to an end, the quality and sound of Yamaha marching brass and percussion instruments leave a tremendous impression on the field.

The rich sonorities from Yamaha-performing corps made a clear and significant difference at the DCI World Championships in Pasadena, CA. Becoming an "all-Yamaha" corps in 2005, the Colts of Dubuque, IA reached their highest score ever and made it to DCI finals for the first time since 2001. Also joining the Yamaha family in 2005, The Bluecoats won best brass in quarterfinals and placed third in overall percussion. Their impressive score of 94.050 was the corps' second-highest score ever at DCI Finals. Easily a crowd favorite with an exciting and fast-paced show, Carolina Crown raced to their highest finals placement and highest score ever at 94.150. This was Crown's first season performing on Yamaha. Placing in fifth place with a score of 94.175, the beautiful and soft finale of Santa Clara Vanguard's show left the entire crowd breathless. The Cadets and The Cavaliers performed strongly and finished in second and third place, respectively.

Although they did not advance to finals, the Troopers, Crossmen and Madison Scouts all put on fantastic shows. Their first year using Yamaha brass, the Troopers bounced back from a one-year hiatus with their program entitled 'Awakening.' At semifinals, the Crossmen played Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis in fine taste, and the Scouts received a standing ovation in praise of their passionate performance.

With continuous success in DCI for over twenty years, Yamaha is increasingly recognized as a leader in craftsmanship, dependability and innovation. With beautiful tone, precise intonation and immaculate blend, it is no wonder why more Division I finalists Depend on Yamaha than any other manufacturer.
