Heidi Voight (Miss Connecticut 2006) with John Van Ness, sales manager at Caruso Music in New London, Connecticut Voight owns a 12-string guitar, but sought a six-string model for a performance of her original song, "I Am a Patriot" at the Miss Connecticut Pageant 2007, held at the Garde Theater in New London. She turned to Van Ness, who lent her an APX700.
