New Yamaha Concert Select Silent Violin Continues Success of Legendary Line

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Yamaha Band & Orchestral Division will launch an update to its popular SV-120K Concert Select Silent Violin with the debut of the SV-130K at Winter NAMM 2008. The new model will provide improved electronics that aid in the elimination of background noise and features an auxiliary-in capability and onboard reverb. A broader choice of striking colors are now available including Navy Blue, Antique Brown, Black and Candy Apple Red.

The Yamaha SV-130K enables players of all levels to practice silently, any place and at any time. With the inclusion of a 1/4-in. output jack, the instrument can be played through any standard amplifier, and the violin's improved circuitry produces higher quality while reducing noise output.

As the leading manufacturer of Silent Violins, the new SV-130K continues the company's successful history of producing Concert Select violins. The Concert Select Silent Violin features Yamaha world-class design, engineering and quality, providing the violinist with a durable, comfortable practice and performance instrument.

"The Concert Select Silent Violin has set the standard for design for all electric violins," notes Ken Dattmore, Marketing Manager, Yamaha Strings Department. "The SV-130K, which incorporates Yamaha's latest technology, improves upon what was already an excellent musician's tool."

The SV-130K may be used along with an MP3 or CD player through the Aux-In jack, useful for practicing and to playing along with favorite songs. The violin can also be played through a traditional amplifier. "Improved circuitry provides musicians with a quieter sound output to enhance tone whether during silent practice or an onstage performance," adds Dattmore. "The design stays true to the original acoustic violin design, which makes switching between acoustic violin and Silent Violin almost seamless."

The SV-130K and the SV-130SK Silent Violin Outfit (violin with wood tear-drop case and wood bow) will be available in June 2008. Both products carry a five-year limited warranty.
