Yamaha 441M Intermediate Oboe Rounds Out High School Woodwind Section

ANAHEIM, Calif. — The highly popular Yamaha Intermediate Model Oboe line expands with the addition of the YOB-441M model, specifically developed for middle and high school students. Guaranteed to round out any ensemble's woodwind section, the Yamaha YOB-441M Oboe will make its Winter NAMM 2008 debut. The new oboe's modified conservatory key system provides trill keys and necessary options applicable to classical and modern student materials.

The Yamaha 441M is the only intermediate student oboe available on the market today with an injection-molded inner bore in the lined upper joint where the lining extends into the toneholes; this eliminates issues with cracking and acts as a moisture barrier. The new model has the added benefit of reinforcement and durability found in the Yamaha 441P and 441 Oboes.

The size and placement of the toneholes are identical to those in the Yamaha 441P and 441 models, providing even more accurate intonation, which makes the 441M the most professional-sounding intermediate oboe model available.

The materials used in the Yamaha 441M are the same as those used to manufacture Yamaha Custom Model Oboes and have been carefully crafted in a similar manner. Constructed of the finest quality aged and seasoned Grenadilla wood, the new 441M Oboe maintains the rich, professional sound of a traditional oboe.

"The new YOB-441M is a breakthrough at this level of instrument, combining a warm sounding Grenadilla wood body with the strength of an injection molded inner bore," says Kurt Witt, Marketing Manager, Yamaha Wind Instruments. "We know that educators across the country will appreciate the added durability of this model."

The YOB-441M is expected to be delivered in April 2008. Yamaha's comprehensive five-year warranty will offer parents added peace of mind, as well as investment protection.
