Yamaha Enhances Professional Series Flutes with C# Trill Key Option, Type K Headjoint

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Yamaha Band & Orchestral Division announces the Winter NAMM 2008 launch of the new handmade Type K headjoint and the addition of the C# Trill Key option for its professional 500-700 Series flute. The Type K headjoint is the result of an exceptional development process with Philadephia Orchestra principal flutist and Yamaha Artist Jeff Khaner. The result is a truly unique headjoint for the discerning flutist, whether soloist, chamber orchestra member, advanced educational player or professional performer. The availability of the C# Trill Key option for the 500-700 Series flute will enable musicians to play quick passages with greater ease and improved intonation.

Developed for the needs and demands of the contemporary American flutist, the new Type K (YAC model YHJ-K) will provide players with great sound, ease of response, and the ability to create a unique style.

"We expect an extremely high demand for the Type K," says Kurt Witt, Marketing Manager, Yamaha Wind Instruments. "This new headjoint is poised to be a big success, and has earned an overwhelming response from our artists."

The addition of the C# Trill Key allows Yamaha's Band & Orchestral Division to extend its flute product line by offering players more configurations and options. In addition to providing better intonation and a more comfortable level of playability, the C# Trill Key makes playing quick passages much easier.

"We recognize the need to stay competitive," continues Witt. "By offering this as an option for the 500-700 series flutes, we are giving both dealers and flutists additional value along with the known Yamaha quality standard."

The Type K headjoint is currently available. The C# Trill Key option is available for 500-700 Series flute models YFL-574HCT, YFL-584HCT, YFL-674HCT, YFL-684HCT, YFL-774HCT and YFL-784HCT.
