3100 Series Timpani Honors Yamaha's Commitment to the Environment

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division, has recently reintroduced the 3100 Series Timpani Set. The new series, which will begin shipping during the first quarter of 2008, is a replacement for the popular 3000 series of portable timpani and is ideal for percussion instructors, band directors and students. The TP-3100 series is a great set for practicing at home or in rooms where space is limited and frequent movement of the timpani is required.

Offering quality sound and increased portability, the lightweight, yet durable 3100 Series set is the first of its kind to use environment-friendly aluminum bowls. The new models feature custom Remo Renaissance heads and multiple preset pedal angles, as well as a movable tuning gauge delivering solid tuning for American or German set up.

Fitted with black hardware, the drums have a sleek look and collapsible design, making them perfect for gigging timpanists and professional players that travel extensively. Retractable legs reduce packing space with small locking casters that remain stable during play. Adjustable height and tilt settings enable each player to create a comfortable playing position.

"As we expected, our new Timpani has enjoyed tremendous popularity with timpanists worldwide," states Troy Wollwage, Marketing Manager, Percussion Department. "By using the renewable resource of aluminum in the bowls and eliminating the need for fiberglass, Yamaha is able to provide a consistent high-quality instrument that honors our commitment to sound while helping to preserve the environment."
