Part of a larger organization that encompasses the Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps and the Phoenix Visual Ensemble, Spit Fire aims to teach music and perform routines for community events such as parades, festivals and concerts. Spit Fire also competes in the Florida Federation of Colorguard Circuit (FFCC) and a regional Winter Guard International (WGI) event. Members range in age from 14 through 22.

Spit Fire has recently began building a successful history of providing Florida youth with an outlet that develops lasting relationships and instills ethics and pride. Spit Fire's highly skilled staff works to build each member's musicianship, cultivating talent and passion for music in the process.

"Having long admired Yamaha's commitment to excellence, it was easy for Spit Fire Indoor Percussion Ensemble and our parent group, the Evolution Complex, to endorse a championship-quality product such as Yamaha Percussion," said Vic Kulinski, Jr., Ensemble Director "It was also a pleasure to work with Yamaha's professional staff, Dino Riccio and Troy Wollwage, in making this project become a reality for the youth of Citrus County Florida."

Yamaha's partnership with Spit Fire Percussion Ensemble provides an active learning environment to its members, adding a new facet to the local arts community.

"It's always fantastic to see another music arts organization grow from the efforts of dedicated music educators. It is a testament to the hard work of so many people to keep music alive in the Florida community," said Troy Wollwage, Marketing Manager, Yamaha Percussion. "I encourage parents and young people in Florida to take a good look at Spit Fire as an outlet for a unique educational program which teaches young people not only about music, but life skills as well."
