James Adler Performs Piano Recital at Yamaha Piano Salon

NEW YORK CITY — James Adler will perform music from his new CD, "Syncopated Rhythms," at Yamaha Artist Services, Inc. on April 17, 2008. CDs will be available for purchase and personalization following the concert. In addition to his own original compositions, Adler will present works by Louis Moreau Gottschalk, Scott Joplin, Leo Ornstein, George Antheil, Gian Carlo Menotti, Aaron Copland and George Gershwin.

Pianist and composer James Adler made his performing debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at the age of 16, the start of a varied career in the United States and Europe. He has appeared throughout the world at leading concert halls, including New York's Alice Tully and Carnegie Halls, Orchestra Hall in Chicago, and the Chicago Cultural Center. He made his London recital debut at the Wigmore Hall, and his orchestral debut at the Royal Albert Hall in a concert broadcast by the BBC.

Known as a pianist who "can create whatever type of music he wants at the keyboard" (Chicago Sun-Times), he has enjoyed great success with Rhapsody in Blue, which he has performed worldwide, from the Paramount Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York, to the Dimitria Festival in Thessoloniki, Greece, to Chicago's Grant Park Fourth of July Concert Series for an audience of 50,000.

The recital will take place on the 3rd floor Piano Salon at Yamaha Artist Services, Inc., which is located at 689 Fifth Avenue, New York City (entrance is at 54th Street).
