Jeffrey Khaner Completes American Conservatory Tour
BUENA PARK, Calif. Yamaha Flute Artist Jeffrey Khaner recently completed a successful tour of flute master classes given at several of the United States' top music conservatories. The tour included stops at The Peabody Institute in Baltimore, The Boston Conservatory in the heart of Boston and the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. The tour also gave Mr. Khaner an opportunity to showcase the newly introduced K-headjoint for Yamaha flutes, which provides flute players with great sound, ease of response, and the ability to create a unique style.
Principal Flute of the Philadelphia Orchestra since 1990, Mr. Khaner has also performed with orchestras throughout the United States, Canada and Asia, collaborating with conductors Riccardo Chailly, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Charles Dutoit, Christoph Eschenbach, Franz Welser-Most, David Zinman and many others. He has also championed contemporary composers by regularly incorporating their music into his recital programs. In turn, many of today's most celebrated composers have written expressly for him, including Ned Rorem, who wrote his celebrated Flute Concert concerto specifically for him in 2003. Mr. Khaner is a member of the faculty at both The Juilliard School and The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
