Summer Sounds: Yamaha Supports Major Music Festivals

Summer Sounds Festival
BUENA PARK, Calif. — Every year Yamaha participates in many major summer music festivals, providing the highest quality pianos, keyboards, drum sets and other gear to help the musicians reach the height of their creativity.

Yamaha Drums and Pianos supply top-notch instruments for some of the nation's major jazz festivals, including the Playboy Jazz Festival, held every June at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Yamaha drums and pianos will also occupy all ten stages at the San Jose Jazz Festival in August. For over 20 years, Yamaha has provided drums and pianos for the Monterey Jazz Festival, the world's longest-running jazz festival, held the third weekend of September.

For the first time, Yamaha Guitars is the premier sponsor of Muriel Anderson's All Star Guitar Night, which will be held at the Summer NAMM music industry trade show in Nashville on Saturday, June 21. The concert will be held in the historic Ryman Auditorium, site of the Grand Ole Opry from 1934 to 1974, and features Muriel Anderson, Thom Bresh, Larry Carlton, David Facchini & Anita Camarella, Will Ray, Ladd Smith, Rick Vito and Victor Wooten.

Yamaha Piano division will be very busy, providing instruments for more than a dozen major festivals throughout the season. 2008 marks the 40th anniversary of the prestigious Newport Music Festival, the crown jewel of summer destinations for chamber music performances, as well as the 21st year that Yamaha has provided concert and conservatory grand pianos, along with a range of upright and digital instruments, to the venerated event.
