Nation's Outstanding Young Music Talent Take To the Stage In Yamaha Regional Junior Original Concerts

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Highly talented students from Yamaha music schools nationwide will take to the stage at two upcoming Junior Original Concerts. Yamaha's Western Regional Junior Original Concert will take place at Biola University's Crowell Hall in La Mirada, California. Yamaha's Southern Regional Junior Original Concert, will take place at Arizona State University's Katzin Concert Hall in Tempe. Both concerts will be presented on June 14, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.

Highly talented students from Yamaha music schools nationwide took to the stage at Yamaha's Eastern Regional Junior Original Concert on May 3, 2009 Farleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.
Hosted by Yamaha, the venue provides selected students with the opportunity to perform their original compositions. The Yamaha Music Education System offers six different music courses for children between the ages of three and nine. Most classes are held weekly, covering everything from listening skills to keyboard performance.

Yamaha Music Foundation (YMF) was founded in 1966 for the purpose of developing and promoting music education and music popularization activities internationally. YMF guides the development of the Yamaha Music Education System in 41 countries and also sponsors international events such as the Junior Original Concert (JOC). In the United States, the Music Education Division of Yamaha Corporation of America works in cooperation with Yamaha Music Foundation to design new courses, improve instructional quality and refine existing programs.

Crowell Hall is located at Biola University, 12625 La Mirada Blvd. in La Mirada, California. Katzin Hall is located in the Music Building of the Tempe Campus of Arizona State University, 50 E. Gammage Parkway in Tempe, AZ.
