Robert Trujillo, Metallica bassman, joins acoustic duo during Chicago concert.
NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo joined Rodrigo y Gabriela— the dynamic Mexican duo who became international world-music superstars with their self-titled album of aggressive acoustic guitars and irresistible Latin rhythms— on stage Oct. 16 at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago, Illinois to perform acoustic versions of the Metallica classics "Master Of Puppets" and "Orion."

In a message on Twitter after the gig, Rodrigo y Gabriela wrote, "Amazing show at Chicago. Robert Trujillo jammed with us on stage - great fun and amazing guy he is!! Loved the crowd!!! Gracias!!!"

Rodrigo y Gabriela released their new studio album 11:11 on Sept. 8 through ATO Records. Comprised of 11 new original compositions, 11:11 is the band's personal "gracias" to 11 musicians, both past and present, who have inspired them along the way. One of the tracks, "Atman," features a guest appearance by Yamaha artist Alex Skolnick of thrash metal veterans Testament and is dedicated to late PANTERA /Damageplan guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott.
