Yamaha Debuts New Products, Celebrates Key Milestone at 2009 PASIC Convention

"There's no better drum and percussion venue to display the number of innovative products we are releasing than PASIC," said Rick Young, Senior Vice President, Yamaha Corporation of America. "We have been displaying at PASIC since 1981 and the atmosphere is always electric, well, acoustic too!"
The percussion department of Yamaha's Band & Orchestral Division, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2009, will introduce the Grand Series Concert Toms, Indoor Marching Snare Drums (MSS-9213) and 500 Series Xylophones. Yamaha will also present the Custom Marching Series drums with lacquer finishes, which will be used at the Bands of America National Championship at Lucas Oil Field. Visitors to the convention will have an opportunity to see and play the entire catalog of Yamaha percussion instruments and accessories.
Yamaha's Pro Audio & Combo Division will also attend. Yamaha Drums will showcase new Rogers drum sets, Akira Jimbo's performance acoustic/electronic hybrid drum set and the PHX drum set, the Yamaha's flagship acoustic drum kit, which has received rave reviews from artists and dealers alike.
The new Electronic Drum Department will also launch the exciting DTX-MULTI 12 electronic percussion pad, a new split-level multi-pad that adapts sound technology from the revolutionary Motif XS synthesizer and the DTXTREME III drum trigger module. The pad lets drummers enjoy three modes of play: sticks, hands or fingers.

Yamaha's Academic and Institutional Resources Division will conduct an Electronic Drum Lab Demo, illustrating the concept of the "Music Lab of the Future," which integrates analog and digital instruments in a seamless lab environment using the new LC3 lab controller.
Yamaha has been a sustaining member of the Percussive Arts Society since 1981 when drum sets were first displayed. Yamaha orchestral percussion began showing products at PASIC in 1984.
PASIC is the largest percussion event in the world, featuring over 150 concerts, clinics, master classes, labs, workshops, panels, and presentations. The finest artists from all over the world are invited to present and perform at PASIC. The program showcases all areas of percussion, including drum set, marching, keyboard, symphonic, world, recreational, education, music technology, new music, and health and wellness.
