Dealers Name The Yamaha Disklavier As 'Product Of The Year' For The Ninth Year In A Row

BUENA PARK, Calif.—For the last nine years, the Yamaha Disklavier reproducing piano has taken the top honor of Product of the Year in the Musical Merchandise Review (MMR) Dealer's Choice Awards. Though the Disklavier took the top prize again, other Yamaha products also received accolades, including the Clavinova digital piano (Best Digital Keyboard) and the entire line-up of Yamaha's Live Sound Department (Best Sound Reinforcement Products). The awards are based on votes from musical products dealers throughout the country.

"Dealers have intimate knowledge of where our products sit in the marketplace," said Rick Young, senior vice president, Yamaha Corporation of America. "It's a great honor to have the Disklavier and Clavinova singled out consistently, but our live sound products are also becoming perennial winners in dealer polls."

Paul Calvin, vice president and general manager at Yamaha's Keyboard Division, said "the fact that the Disklavier and Clavinova have won this award year in and year out is a testament to their unsurpassed quality, innovation and market leadership."

Along with the Disklavier, the Clavinova continued its remarkable winning streak. Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2008, the Clavinova has established itself as the most successful digital piano line in the United States, earning MMR's Dealer's Choice Awards an unprecedented 14 times. Combining great sound with piano-like feel, the Clavinova offers advanced educational and entertainment applications in an attractive package.

Yamaha's Live Sound products consist of portable PA's, powered and unpowered speakers, power amps, signal and effects processors and a complete line of analog mixing boards from the small format MG102C up to the IM8 line of mixing consoles.

"Our products have one thing in common besides providing great sound reinforcement and that is an unmatched commitment to quality and performance," said Wayne Hrabak, marketing manager, Live Sound Department. "It's gratifying that dealers, who know our products better than just about anyone, concur."

These award-winning Yamaha products, along with the Web site, will be featured in the December 2009 issue of MMR and awards will be presented to company executives during the upcoming Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, California.
