Yamaha and Paiste Participate in Cymbal Summit

Memphis became cymbal central USA when Memphis Drum Shop hosted the first-ever international Cymbal Summit, which featured exhibitions, workshops, clinics and concerts. Every major cymbal company in the world attended this celebration. Major artists appearing at the summit included Ron Tutt (Elvis Presley), Yamaha Drum Artist Ndugu Chancler (Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean"), Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden), Jack DeJohnette (Miles Davis), Jeff Hamilton (Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie), Peter Erskine (Steely Dan). An expert craftsman was also on hand to to demonstrate the traditional method of hand hammering cymbals.
