Yamaha Streams World-Class Performances 'Live' From The Newport Music Festival

BUENA PARK, Calif. - Beyond its stellar fleet of concert, conservatory and grand pianos, Yamaha Corporation of America will bring state-of-the-art Web streaming technology to the world-renowned 2010 Newport Music Festival, enabling select performances to be enjoyed by a broader audience.

Classical music lovers can visit the Yamaha HubTV site (www.yamahahub.tv) during the following special showtimes for easy streaming video access:

Saturday, July 10th at 4pm (Eastern): Budem Zdorovy! Russian music, Tchaikovsky's Trio and songs.

Sunday, July 11th at 4pm (Eastern): Schumann in Song, Frauenliebe and Dichterliebe. Honoring Schumann's bicentenary with a series of seven concerts featuring rare and beautiful works from the Romantic era great.

Yamaha's Customer Experience Group will broadcast from historic Newport performance venues, including The Elms and The Breakers mansions. Select material will be streamed and then later compiled for a "Best Of" broadcast following the conclusion of the festival.

"This streaming represents a new chapter in Yamaha's relationship with the Newport Music Festival," states Customer Experience Group Director Jeff Hawley. "It will help us promote the event to a vast, untapped audience that the Festival has yet to reach."

According to Hawley, the stream is made possible by NewTek's TriCaster, a platform that produces and delivers video content over the Internet instantly, in addition to archiving performances. "Music aficionados, for the first time, will be able to view select Festival concerts from the comfort of home," added Hawley.

A major festival sponsor, Yamaha has provided its high-quality concert and conservatory grand pianos, along with a range of upright and digital instruments, to the acclaimed Newport Music Festival for 23 years.

Among the models provided this year are the CFIIIS concert grand piano, the C7 concert grand, the DC7M4PRO and the DCFIIISM4PRO.

Yamaha Pianist Claire Huangci, winner of the 2010 National Chopin Competition, will close out the world-famous music event with a recital on July 25th.

The Newport Music Festival 2010 celebrates its 42nd season July 9-25, and honors the memory of Director Mark P. Malkovich III, who recently died just prior to his 80th birthday. It continues Malkovich's tradition of presenting unique chamber music programs, American debuts, world-class artists and special events in the Gilded Age mansions of Newport, Rhode Island. The Newport Music Festival has become celebrated for presenting more than 130 artists and ensembles in their American debuts.

The Festival will present 65 concerts-three to five per day-in the famous Newport mansions with 35 American and international artists from 14 countries, including season-long tributes to the bicentenaries of composers Frédéric Chopin and Robert Alexander Schumann.
