The Intimate and the Epic: Acclaimed Pianist Koji Attwood Performs at Yamaha Artist Services

NEW YORK CITY — Rising classical pianist and Yamaha Artist Koji Attwood will perform an eclectic array of works in a special concert at Yamaha's Midtown Manhattan Piano Salon on November 5, 2010 at 7pm. Attwood will present the works of Chopin, Scriabin, Tchaikovsky, Schumann and Bortkiewicz.

Kansas native Koji Attwood made his solo debut at the age of 10, and one year later won Second Prize at the Young Keyboard Artists International Competition. He earned Second Prize at both the Stravinsky and the Missouri Southern International Keyboard competitions, and was a participant in the International William Kapell Keyboard and the Hamamatsu International Piano competitions. He received honorary mention at the VII International Web Concert Hall Competition, which entitled him to a performance that will live on the Web Concert Hall Artist Series web site for the next seven years. A featured artist on yamahamusicsoft.com's “New York City Rising Star” series, Koji was also a winner of Astral Artistic Services' 2003 International Auditions.

Koji has performed numerous solo recitals across much of the country, including concerts in the Lincoln Center and Kosciuszko Foundation Concert Series. He appears regularly on the “World of the Piano” series at the Juilliard School and was frequently heard on a weekly radio show on New York's WQXR, “Reflections From the Keyboard: the Pianist in Comparative Performance,” and currently on David Dubal's new show, “The Piano Matters” on WWFM.

The performance will take place at the third floor piano salon at Yamaha Artist Services, Inc., 689 Fifth Avenue in New York City.
