Yamaha Wins Three 2010 "Musical Merchandise Review" Dealers' Choice Awards
BUENA PARK, Calif. — Yamaha Corporation of America has been honored with three 2010 Musical Merchandise Review (MMR) Dealers' Choice Awards. This marks the stunning tenth year that the Yamaha Disklavier performance-reproducing piano has taken the top honor of Product of the Year.
Beyond the Disklavier's amazing achievement, Yamaha's Band and Orchestral Division was recognized as Product Line of the Year and the Tyros4 Arranger Workstation Keyboard won Pro Digital Keyboard Line of the Year. The awards are based on votes from musical products dealers throughout the country.
Continuing its own long track record of success, the Band & Orchestral Division also received the MMR "Product Line of the year" award in 1998, 1999, 2002 and 2003, in addition to earning the distinction of "Product of the Year" for Silent Brass in 1996.
"Music retailers have an intimate knowledge of the depth and breadth of the industry's offerings," said Rick Young, senior vice president, Yamaha Corporation of America. "Therefore, it's a tremendous honor to have them consistently distinguish the Disklavier for so many years. It's also extremely gratifying to have the Tyros, as well as the full line of the Band & Orchestral Division instruments, recognized for their superior quality. These distinctions inspire us to continue to create the industry's best musical products."
These award-winning Yamaha instruments are featured in the December 2010 issue of MMR and awards will be presented to company executives during the upcoming 2011 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, California.
