High Style, Low Maintenance:The Yamaha Clavinova CLP Slimline Series
ANAHEIM, Calif.— Yamaha today introduced the Clavinova CLP Slimline Series digital pianos, featuring enhanced technologies and elegant piano craftsmanship. On display at Winter NAMM 2011, the new line, which includes the CLP-S406B and CLP-S408, is perfect for in-home use, offering high-quality sound and realistic piano action. Ideal for contemporary décor environments with limited floor space, it is also well suited for institutions and houses of worship.
The new Clavinova Slimline Series offers an improved piano touch and tone in a cabinet that's high on style, but low in square footage. Available in two finishes, and Black Walnut (CLP-S308) and Polished Ebony (CLP-S408), the CLP Slimline models look as great as they sound. The series boasts advanced Yamaha digital piano touch and tone all bundled into a compact, yet elegantly designed cabinet.
While both the CLP-S406B and CLP-S408 offer Yamaha's outstanding Graded Hammer 3 action, the CLP-S408 debuts a new feature called Linear Graded Hammer. The system replicates the nuance of a traditional piano with 88 unique levels of gradations from top to bottom. Additionally, both models include Intelligent Acoustic Control to maintain a full, rich sound with balanced highs and lows through all volume levels. All models plug directly into a house sound system and retain their built-in speakers as monitors.
"Piano customers are more particular than ever about the design and appearance an instrument will have in their living rooms," says Dane Madsen, Yamaha Electronic Keyboard Marketing Manager. "Beyond its technological enhancements, the new CLP Slimline Series offers a stylish alternative to more traditional looking instruments. The understated elegance of the CLP-S408 is ideal for customers who put a premium on design, but are short on floor space."
Key new features shared by all models in the CLP Slimline Series include a USB audio recorder, which lets pianists capture performances, document and store piano lesson material or record original compositions on high-quality audio files. Now, it's easier than ever to share high-quality recordings of your performance with family and friends.
Yamaha's goal to "bring the joy of playing piano to everyone" led to the creation of the Clavinova digital piano in 1983. Over the last quarter century, the Clavinova has evolved into the world's most popular and musically empowering digital piano. The new CLP Slimline Series offers features targeted at the piano purist, emphasizing piano touch and tone above all else, but still providing simple, practical functions that all pianists can appreciate.
Meticulous craftsmanship has earned Clavinova digital pianos consistent acclaim from Musical Merchandise Review magazine and many other respected music industry leaders.
