Yamaha YPC-62R Professional Piccolo Features New Wave Cut Headjoint
ANAHEIM, Calif. — At Winter NAMM 2011, Yamaha Corporation of America, Band and Orchestral Division will introduce the YPC-62R Professional Piccolo featuring a wave cut head joint affording a great amount of stability and control with an extremely focused rich sound.
A long-time favorite of professional musicians, the YPC-62 can be found in many top orchestras worldwide. Sharing many of the characteristics of the Yamaha hand-crafted series, the YPC-62R features a similar design and boasts a high degree of hand-craftsmanship for excellent intonation and playability.
The new wave cut head joint offers a very gratifying response and a wider dynamic range. It features a body of select, carefully seasoned grenadilla for a warm, full tone with strong projection. A split-E mechanism is added for fingering ease and a ribbed key post construction adds strength, while maintaining accurate key action.
“The new YPC-62R Piccolo is ideal for any playing situation and many flutists who double on the piccolo will find its easy response very welcoming,” said Roger Eaton, Director of Marketing, Yamaha Band and Orchestral Division. “Furthermore, its even scale, quality craftsmanship and durability make this model a top choice for school use.
The YPC-62 Professional Piccolo will ship in Spring 2011 with an MSRP of $3,366.
