Yamaha Expands Premium Sound Bar Lineup, Adding Uncompressed Streaming Audio, Ability to Use Existing TV & Cable Box Remotes
BUENA PARK, Calif. — Yamaha Corporation of America, AV Division, today introduced the YSP-4300 and YSP-3300 Digital Sound Projectors, the latest additions to its award-winning Premium Front Surround Systems that connect directly to TVs to deliver high-quality 7.1-channel audio. These elegant models incorporate the company's proprietary YSP front surround sound technology with powerful 130W wireless active subwoofers that transform any TV room into a true home theater. The YSP-4300, which adds a front panel USB port for audio playback from a variety of devices, as well as an FM tuner, is an all-in-one home entertainment hub. The YSP-4300 will be available in December for an MSRP of $1,899.95 and the YSP-3300 will be available in November for an MSRP of $1599.95.
While most sound bars offer a "virtual surround" experience, Yamaha's Digital Sound Projectors use YSP technology to create sound beams that are bounced off walls to deliver side and rear audio content. In addition to providing true surround, with a more enveloping listening experience, this same technology enables a unique feature called "Target Mode," in which sound is aimed at a specific listening position. Target Mode enables numerous use case scenarios, from enjoying TV programs at night without disturbing others, to creating a focused listening area in noisy environments. The versatile, low-profile design of YSP-4300 and YSP-3300 enable them to conveniently fit in front of a TV, eliminating the need for additional speakers, cabling and stands that can clutter home entertainment spaces. The sound bar components of each system measure just over three-inches in height, and have adjustable feet that enable use with virtually any flat-screen video display without blocking the picture. Both models also feature built-in IR repeaters so that TVs can communicate with their remote controls even if the sound bar components cover the TV's remote sensor.
The included wireless subwoofers can be positioned either vertically or horizontally, giving users an unobtrusive, space-efficient environment. Each model incorporates Yamaha's improved yAired technology for a higher performing wireless connection between the sound bar and subwoofer.
"Customers love our YSP-2200 two-piece front surround system. They appreciate the great surround sound reproduction and the sound bar component's compact size and style," said Tom Sumner, senior vice-president, Yamaha Corporation of America. "Now we are expanding the line along the same concept and adding sound and convenience enhancements, such as additional drivers and improved powered wireless subwoofers, to make them even better suited for the serious home theater enthusiast."
The YSP-4300 creates an immersive multi-channel surround sound experience for listeners by reflecting the detailed 7.1 sound beams off the walls around them via 22 individual speaker drivers – each with its own digital amplifier. Two additional woofers placed in the center unit improve stereo audio and dialog clarity, while the component's larger cabinet provides an excellent sound blend with the wireless subwoofer. With 324 Watts of power, the YSP-4300 is fully loaded and capable of delivering an extraordinary surround sound experience for any room.
The YSP-3300 creates a similar listening environment via 16 speaker beam drivers and 2 woofers, each powered by individual digital amplifiers. This model produces a total of 262 Watts of power, including the wireless subwoofer.
The YSP-4300 and YSP-3300 decode HD Audio signals (Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD) and feature 10 CINEMA DSP programs for movies, music and gaming. Yamaha's proprietary Compressed Music Enhancer improves the sound of compressed sources such as MP3 files.
HDMI connectivity (4 in/1 out; 4K2K/3D /CEC / ARC) enables the full enjoyment of 1080p monitors, 3D sources and Blu-ray disc players and HDTV set top boxes.
Yamaha has also improved its exclusive IntelliBeam Automated System Calibration, which makes it easier than ever to set up these systems for optimized sound performance in any room.
Both models work with the optional Yamaha YIT-W12 yAired transmitter that is designed to wirelessly stream music from Apple iPods, iPhones and PCs. It supports uncompressed linear PCM for high-quality audio. The YIT-W12 will be available in November for an MSRP of $59.95.
